Central Ohio Secular Parents Support Group

Being a parent is not always easy and a one can feel very overwhelmed and alone. With this in mind, the Humanist Community of Central Ohio (HCCO) decided to create this support group. The goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where parents can interact with other parents from the secular community and learn from one another.

We will be discussing topics, but you are welcome to ask questions, share your experiences, or suggest future topics.  Children are welcome to attend, please email Jamie at [masked] to confirm ages and number of children attending.

Refreshments and snacks will be provided, but please email ahead of time if you have allergies or diet restrictions. We will be accepting donations to offset the cost of refreshments. Some toys will be provided, but your children are welcome to bring some of their own.

We will have a sitter on hand to watch children during this meetup, please let us know if your children have any special care needs.

We will be meeting at the center of Thomson Park in Upper Arlington as weather permits, with the HCCO conference room at 1515 Old Henderson as a backup.

We are moving. Someone had rented the nearby shelter house, and apparently that includes any of the picnic tables nearby. We will be at the HCCO building room 131, 1550 old Henderson road. You can call[masked] if you have trouble finding the place.

On our way; running quite a bit late! At least we will meet a few people!

If you check the map at the link above, the "pin" is nearly dead center. That's where we'll be, most likely at a picnic table near the parking lots.

I'm bringing juice, gatorade, bananas, fruit snacks, and diet cherry 7up. I have cups and plates (not sure if the plates will be necessary).

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
