HCCO Bleed & Feed

It's time to give of yourself...donate blood and then replenish yourself by going out to dinner with fellow donors and freethinkers.

This month, we're hosting our own blood drive for the first time ever! The holidays are always a time when donor blood supply is low, but the needs for blood are constant.  Help make a bigger difference than ever by joining us this solstice.  We'll be at the HCCO/SSA office (see the address above) and we'll be having a potluck dinner afterwards.  We're also running longer and later than ever - we'll have appointments as late as 8:45pm.

We need donors, scheduling volunteers and on-site volunteers! If you'd like to donate, help make appointments for donors, or help out at the event itself, please let Lyz know.

It's easy to sign up for an appointment: just go to our blood drive on the Red Cross Website or, if that link won't work for you, go to www.givelife.org, click on "Enter a sponsor code" in the "Find a blood drive near you" section, and enter the sponsor code "humanist."  You can also contact Lyz and a volunteer will contact you to schedule an appointment by phone or email.  While we may be able to accept walk-in donors, the only way we can guarantee that we can get you in is by making an appointment.

We're delighted to be hosting this event and look forward to having you with us! Make sure you bring a dish to share since we'll be doing a potluck instead of going out to eat this time.

I'll be eating out afterwards celebrating a friend's birthday, so don't be annoyed if I show up without a dish! We won't eat anything. :-) Look forward to seeing you all!

FYI, My wife works at Grant Med Center in the emergency room. Your blood is appreciated and you will save a life. Isn't science great?

I was feeling pretty good with 5.5 min. Guess I need to take remedial bleeding!

I gave blood earlier today... but because of family stuff probably won't be able to swing by and say hi to everyone... hope the event is a success, you guys have fun drive safe and I wish everyone an awesome holiday weekend!

Sorry I can't make it now. My office scheduled our holiday party that day and attendance is required...

Sounds like fun? We do still have some evening appointments - 7:45, 8-8:45 - depending on how late your party runs. But if not, no worries - there's always next time!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
