UniversiTea: Feminism? Misogyny? Women in Secular Society

Humanists Doing Good will be meeting for an open ended discussion on the topics of feminism, misogyny and women in secular society. These are topics that have been a hotbed of controversy and recent problems in the secular community that we would like to further explore and openly discuss. Questions posed may range from, "Is Feminism largely dead in modern society?" to "Does the secular community have significant problems with misogyny?"

UniversiTeas are opportunities to discuss challenging and often philosophical topics in detail and in a casual environment. We encourage people to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, have a bite to eat and freely discuss issues in whatever direction the discussion takes.

We'll be meeting for the first time at Traders Coffee at 666 Patterson across from St. Marys Hospital. 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday the 7th of July.

I would love to make it. Love the topic, truly relevant and stimulating. I really want to finishe Camille Paglia's Feminist Mystique, maybe because "true feminists" reviled her. But she promises an explanation of why men are relevant, most especially men who have a feminine expression in their lifestyle. If I could ever find time to read . . . In the mean time am exploring Anasazi ruins this weekend. Hope to catch up w/ you soon. Enjoyed meeting you at the Palisade BGF.
    Greg.
