First-Timers Gathering

This particular gathering is intended for people who have not participated in previous Humanists Doing Good events or who are extremely new to the organization. You are welcome to bring a friend or friends.

Are you a person who has been on our mailing list for a long time but hasn't yet made the leap to get involved? Are you just learning about Humanists Doing Good and curious to know more? Have you been hesitant to show up to an event and have to deal with "being the new person" and messing with everything that might entail? Are you curious about how we operate? Do you want to know more about humanism, but don't want to ask in front of a big group of humanists? Do you wish you could join up with some other new people who are just beginning? If any of these situations resemble you, then this is the gathering for you.

We'll be meeting at the Ale House in a casual setting and inviting your questions. Questions you have will also likely be relevant for everyone present to hear and will be greatly appreciated. We'd love to learn about your personal situation, if you would like to share. We can also provide you with everything you need to start to get involved with the organization. This gathering can be the fun first step toward becoming an active participant.

Unfortunately something has come up and I can no longer make it. But I look forward to meeting you all at the next event I can attend.

I'm sorry I can't make it! we already had plans to take off to Utah this weekend for a renaissance faire. I'll catch you all one of these days!

Enjoy the faire! I always have a great time at those and have been trying to talk Velvet into going to the one in Larkspur, CO.

The reservation has been made and they will be placing us toward the back. You can ask at the front to join the tables reserved for Humanists Doing Good. We look forward to seeing you all and it appears we're going to have a great group of people for this.

I'll put the reservation under Humanists Doing Good (unless they object to not having a personal name, then it will be "Jesse Bond"). I'll also make a point of wearing a bright yellow Humanists Doing Good shirt. I'll be trying to reserve a table toward a quieter portion of the room, but we've learned that sometimes we have to accept what they give us.

We've had sufficient people express interest in attending this gathering so we're going to go ahead and lock it in. Please RSVP if you would like to attend so that we can reserve an appropriate number of seats for everyone. Thanks!

I look forward to meeting the rest of the new people and learning more about the group. The Ale House is the perfect place for such a meeting.

Cori, please know that we're happy to answer any questions you might have or to spend some time after an event talking with you individually if you would ever like. It's no problem if you can't make this particular event and you can feel welcome to join us for any upcoming event/gathering.
