Painting with a Twist

This is to update you that we have four people, which is a good start for one day of RSVPs. Since seats are limited, those of you who want to participate should go ahead to the following link and sign up on-line. The price is $35, and we have to pay in advance by credit card on line to guarantee the seats. Be sure to write in that you want to sit with Wanda Foster. That way, they will try to seat us as a group. Note that various events happen that day, so you will need to select the painting, "Walk," in the 7 to 9 p.m. time slot on August 16th. If you had rather talk to someone to provide your information, telephone (817)[masked] or e-mail [masked]

Here is the reservation link. A description of the event follows the link:

This is just a fun activity for artsy people with time on their hands. You don't need brushes, paint, or any art skills of any kind. Everyone receives a canvas and 2 hours of art instruction. Many people bring their own bottle of wine to share, take a sip of wine, paint, take a sip of wine, and so on, until they are done with their canvas. Others don't drink at all, so they don't bring wine.

The medium is acrylic, so it has to be painted entirely during the time you are there. They provide you with an apron, brushes, and paints in appropriate colors. Everyone paints the same thing. I picked this night because the painting is pretty.

Here is the link to the calendar. Look for the painting entitled, "Walk."

See you next time maybe. Do you have stuff for painting? We are thinking about taking our own easels outdoors in the daytime, maybe to the lake or the park--or something.

This was really fun! I haven't painted recreationally since high school - and the 60's music took me right back there! The atmosphere was very relaxed, I learned a few things about using acrylic paint, and I'm eager to experiment a bit on my own.

My IPhone is covered in paint flecks. We were great Nancy. We can go to the park and do it ourselves the next time, but I want my oils back! The music was fantabulous though. All the painters were singing to the 60s and 70s. :))

Nancy, I tried to post a note, but I don't know if you received it since I don't see it here. It looks as if only you and I are going, which is fine with me. I have already signed up to attend, so I am definitely going. Have you signed up? If so, would you mind if I also invited some people outside the group? It appears that art is not the first draw for our members. This was just the first time I ever tried it out. It was an experiment I guess.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
