Federal Point-in-Time Homeless Count

Thanks to all who helped with our annual Statewide Winter Count done this past fall. It is now time to conduct our federally mandated Point-in-Time count! Every state is required to participate in this count by HUD.

We need volunteers to help with the count on the evening of Wednesday, January 29th. We will train you and you will be working with a team that is going out that evening. No prior experience is needed, just a commitment to helping those in our state who are experiencing homelessness.

This has been updated with the location!

More info:

"We are having a training at the RI Coalition for the Homeless, 1070 North Main Street, Pawtucket at 9am this coming Tuesday, 1/28. We’re on the second floor. If you can make that, we’ll give you a territory to cover and all the materials you need. For those who cannot make the training, they can come to Burnside Park (next to Kennedy Plaza) in Providence at 6:30pm on Wednesday 1/29. Our outreach workers will be there to do a brief training and assign you to a leader for the count."

This was a cold, demanding night, but its necessary and important work as well. If it's cold for us, imagine being homeless.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
