Habitat for Humanity

Starting in December, our group will have a regular build weekend with Habitat for Humanity, the second Saturday of every month. Here's the scoop: Humanists of Rhode Island will be at our 34 Seabury Street site on every second Saturday of every month starting December 2011. Everyone who will be volunteering will have to go on our website and click on the VolunteerUp icon, there all of you will have to make a username and finish filling out the sign in process, there is an area where it asks if you’re from a group or team each of you (including yourself) have to click on the Humanist of RI group, once completed everyone can sign into the date and address spot available for your group. If you or anyone else have a question feel free to contact me. As you can see, they've changed the rules slightly, and now require all our members to log into and register with their website. Our crew will be anchored by Steve, Adam and Mark, but we'll need two or three more volunteers each month. Really, we need all the help we can get. No, you don’t need to bring tools. No, you don’t need any construction experience (although skilled volunteers are always welcome). All you need are a good attitude, some sturdy shoes, and a bag lunch. We do appreciate that you come for the day, arrive at 8:30 and stay till 2:00. This is a fun time, and a great opportunity. See you there.

A great opportunity to learn some new things. Wonderful people, awesome work and thankfully, I didn't feel I had to do anything out of my comfort zone.
