The Big Conversation: How Do We Talk About Belief and Nonbelief?

Every day we have opportunities to discuss with others what we and they believe and don't believe. Some times we choose to engage. Other times we don't.

When and with whom do you choose to talk about beliefs? Is it when an evangelist knocks on your door? When a family member, neighbor or co-worker casually assumes that you are a theist? When someone takes a political position that you think has been shaped by religious dogmatism? When an acquaintance asks for prayers?

What do you say and how do you say it? The following articles may provide food for thought but we will follow wherever this conversation take us. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/roy-speckhardt/an-end-to-arrogant-atheis_b_4602404.html,

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
