North Central College Panel Discussion on Moral Courage

NCC's Atheist, Agnostic, and Humanist Society is presenting a panel discussion about morality and different modes of belief. 5 Professors (Tim Morris of Philosophy, Shereen Ilahi of History, Kelly Howe of Theater, Martha Bohrer of English, and Perry Hamalis of Religious Studies) will be discussing questions like "What are the implications of tying morality to religion" and "If morality does not come from religion, where does it come from?"

It is the first in a series called "Dessert, Coffee, and Conversation" put on by NCC's group. Please invite anyone who would be interested, it will be a fascinating conversation between academics, with time for questions from students and the community.

Great event, interesting speakers with a variety of points of view, many engaged and thoughtful questions from the audience.

Tim Morris, who is a philosophy professor, also has an extensive background in bio-ethics and science and health related issues. We wanted to include a science professor, but it was a matter of networking and that our members don't have strong ties to the science department. I hope this issue doesn't prevent you from coming, it's still a very well-rounded panel of academics who certainly have exposure to scientific theory as well as their own discipline.

I am disappointed to see there are no scientists on the panel. I am suprised there are no biologists are on the panel. Biology provides the explanantion for people's motivation and behavior.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
