Great group. Will continue to go to Sunday meetings. A great feeling to be with folks of like minded attitudes. No arguing, or hurt feelings because of what your beliefs

IMHO, this was the best meeting to date. New people, new points of view, several great discussions going on at the same time and the funny thing while most of the discussions floated around or weaved throughout "Humanism", none of them centered on the subject. I very much enjoyed meeting Lauren an Nicky and learning from both of them!

Humanists of the Treasure Coast offers socializing for people who attempt to be ethical but are not traditionally religious. It also offers support to parents who are raising ethical children from a humanist perspective. We advocate equal treatment of the non religious in hospitals, hospices and at military facilities. Equality would require that health care facilities offer support from a humanist perspective just as they offer support from a religious perspective through chaplains and pastoral care departments. We also request that the Boy Scouts of America stop rejecting boys from non religious families and adopt the Girl Scouts admission policy which accepts children from from non religious families. We invite you to join us in building the Treasure Coast's First Humanist Community.

If you have ever questioned any 'religious" organization or not felt at peace there or, are in a relationship with another person who comes from a different religion, or wants to meet people who are ethical and opened to any other belief or non belief, this is the group for you. If you have chosen to parent and want your children to be raised with an ethical but non-theistic approach to life, this is the group for you and your children. You will meet other people who are committed to rational thinking, lively debates and who are not judgmental about your own choices as long as those choices envelope peace, loving this planet and each other. If you care about humans and want to help in this community and on this earth, this is your group.

A salon is a gathering of people under the roof of an inspiring host, held partly to amuse one another and partly to refine taste and increase their knowledge of the participants through conversation. These gatherings often consciously followed Horace's definition of the aims of poetry, "either to please or to educate" ("aut delectare aut prodesse est"). Salons, commonly associated with French literary and philosophical movements of the 17th and 18th centuries, were carried on until quite recently, in urban settings, among like-minded people.
