I can relate to how embarrassing it is to send an email unintended recipients.
While we agreed that future emails would be private, since your original email went to HUMTC members, I want to clarify my work with Phil during the past two years.
Phil has taken the initiative to help HUMTC in numerous ways. He has located our meeting rooms, obtained publicity for us, and has worked with Vero Beach code enforcement for the removal of religious signs placed on public property. When hospitalized at the W. Palm VA, Phil contacted the head Chaplain to advocate for the establishment of Humanist support at the VA.
I am impressed with the initiative Phil has taken to start a SMART RECOVERY group in Vero. He invited me to a variety of secular self help groups, prior to selecting SMART as the program that he wanted to initiate. In a show of support, HUMTC provided a modest grant to Phil, to help defer some of the start up costs he was experiencing.
Although I am a retired licensed social worker with training in addictive disorders, Phil has educated me about SMART. I congratulate him upon completing the on line facilitator training program provided by Smart Recovery, and I think that he will be an outstanding facilitator.
I look forward to working with you and Phil to promote SMART RECOVERY on the Treasure Coast, because I think it is an excellent secular self help resource for those wanting to recover from addictive behavior.
Best wishes everyone,
Your Fellow Humanist,
Joe Beck, Founder

My sincere apology to Phil and other members of this group ... I didn't catch that my comments were going to be broadcast as they were. I am very sorry for the mistake and any aggravation or offense that resulted. Kacie Best
