Adam Stuart L.

Executive/Artistic Director: Humanity Thru Art (HTA)

North Las Vegas, NV

Organizer since:

January 27, 2013

What do you hope to explore?

My passion is the exploration of the human experience through the creative process of the people living through any given time, at any given place, through the creative endeavors they use to define their world. The art we create whether it be performance, visual, or written; no matter if it's abstract, naturalistic, fiction, or commentary provides insight into the human experience of our time and a window into the human experience of the past. Art is the mirror we hold up to society. I dare to look into it undaunted and hope to inspire others to do so as well.

Tell us about an experience you've had with the Humanities.

How can I pick just one? Join us and we'll swap stories over coffee. There was this one time I appeared with the Florida Grand Opera wearing gold body paint, a mask, a hat shaped like a sperm, and a diaper.

What's your hidden talent?

I can tie a knot in a cherry stem with my tongue. The rest of my talents are right out in the open. Most people don't know that the extent of my drawing ability is the creation of almost recognizable stick figures.

Anything you'd like the group to know before we meet you?

Never be afraid to say "I don't know", or ask for clarification. The only way we learn is by searching for answers. I believe the smartest people are the ones who understand that the clearest indicator of self worth is to say, "I don't know, but I can find out." and then actually do it. I truly believe that everyone has something unique to offer whether they choose to embrace it or bury it deep within. We all have things we can learn from everyone we meet.

Welcome! I'm you're humble organizer Adam. I've been a professional Performing and Literary Artist for over 25 years. I've been a Teaching Artist for the past 15. I'm a graduate of The National Shakespeare Conservatory, UF, and UNLV.
