Larkspur is offering some free historical walking tours this fall. This two-hour walk will explore the Baltimore-Madrone Canyon neighbourhood.
Let's meet at 10 a.m. then go for lunch afterwards in Larkspur.
Meet two blocks south of downtown at the landmark oak in the centre of West Baltimore Ave at the intersection of Magnolia Ave. There is ample parking on West Baltimore Ave.
From the Larkspur Rec. brochure: Baltimore Canyon’s recorded history began as a lively logging camp and mill established during the Gold Rush in 1849. The canyon later was settled by farmers, summer vacationers, and colorful residents. This walk highlights the lumber mill’s location, the architecture of turn-of-the-century homes, stories of pioneer families, and the unique redwood forest setting that has made “Larkspur Canyon” a popular destination and residential neighborhood for more than a century.
