Hungry Thirsty Walkers enjoy combining an outdoor walk experience with lovely food and drink. Our walks are planned for metropolitan Melbourne on designated tracks, not streets & roads. The walks are always on Sundays, are typically 3 hours duration, and are intended to be brisk exercise, going at a pace of 5 to 6 km per hour for 3 hours. Having stragglers going at a slower pace falling behind causes problems......so it's important that you can maintain that pace to stay with the group. Members need to assess their level of fitness and suitability to participate - we are not power-walkers, but we don't stroll ! Then we end the event with a hearty cafe lunch and a little socialising.
The members' involvement makes the group a success, so it won't always be the Organisers who plan the events. After walking with us, members are encouraged to suggest an event - propose a location and a route, with a suitable lunchery, and then either of the Co-Organisers can make you an Event Host. You will get plenty of support to help you run a successful event.
To assist with the Meetup subscription costs we collect an annual fee of $10.00.
