You must RSVP to this meetup, so we know you're coming, THEN get a FREE ticket to the event so the organizers of BarCamp know you're coming and can order your FREE lunch and other things.

BarCamp is an awesome UNconference for web/mobile technologies and media. An Unconference is one in which there are no scheduled speakers. So really, it is the attendees who speak about things they know, love or are learning. The time slots are wide open and no one knows who will be speaking about what until event day, as it's being scheduled.

You can learn more here, but the experience cannot be captured in words (I have tried many times).

Anyway, as designers, we totally fit into this event. It has been running for 5 years in Tampa and is a gem in a sea of crap out there. If you're going to spend a day hanging out at a conference, this is where you should be to keep up with ever-changing technologies, meet new people who are passionate about this and to share what you know too.

This year, the VDL will invade BarCamp TampaBay.

We need designers to come and show their value in emerging technologies. We will reserve a time slot for a panel of designers to answer questions from the public and share knowledge. Let's do a session where we can field questions from a broad range of areas and then, let's show people a few things about what we do and how.

When attendees arrive, there will be a sign-up  for time slots in specific rooms. We will get a room and establish a time (shooting for 10am to noon for this idea) and then we need bodies. Just be prepared with your best personality and game. If you wish to prepare a 15-minute presentation about design, go ahead. You might be able to share during our session, or if you wish to make a 30- or 60-minute you can schedule a session of your own.

Now, do this:

Step 1: RSVP 'yes' to this meetup if you're a designer who will help with the panel/event

Step 2: Get your official event ticket and more info: http://barcamptampabay.org/

    Hi Aris,

Are you all set with enough people for the panel. If not I may be able to attend but I couldn't stay all day so do you have a time that the panel will be speaking?

Rick, planning to get a 10am slot. Please let me know if that can work. There is no set schedule, so it's a toss-up.

I need to know who will be able to show in the morning to have a panel discussion. I am planning 10 am slot, but as you should know, BarCamp does not have a set schedule, so it will still be a bit up to chance.

Who is going to meet me in the morning to be on the panel? I need at least 3 others to join me. Please state your intentions in response to this post and only this post. Thanks.

Let's get a final head count for our panel event. Please comment here if you are definitely coming to BarCamp to represent the group on a panel.

Looks like we have 5 panelists for BarCamp according to the RSVPs on the page. If you are not planning to be on the panel, please comment here. This meetup is for panelist RSVPs. You can attend BarCamp separately by going here: http://barcamptampabay.org/

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
