The California Department of Fish and Wildlife’s (CDFW) Advanced Hunter Education Program and the California Waterfowl Association will co-sponsor a waterfowl hunting clinic on August 10 at Grizzly Island Wildlife Area.
The clinic will teach techniques for waterfowl hunting in northern California and is designed to accommodate all skill levels.
Two experienced instructors, CDFW Chief of Patrol Mike Carion and Warden Aaron Freitas will lead the clinic. Topics will include decoy placement, blind design, waterfowl calling, duck identification, appropriate hunting gear, game care, cooking tips and safety. Information will also be provided on hunting State Wildlife Areas and the Federal Refuges.
The clinic will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost is $45 for adults (youth 16 years and younger are free but must be accompanied by adult). Space is limited so preregistration is required at http://www.dfg.ca.gov/huntered/advanced/waterfowl_grizzly.aspx.
After registering, participants will receive an email with a map to the facility and a list of items to bring.
Grizzly Island is located approximately 9 miles south of Suisun City.

Wish I could have made it to this. I'd be interested in setting up a duck hunting trip, maybe sharing a guide.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
