FCC Technician Amateur Radio Licensing Class

This class will take place over two Saturdays, February 1st and February 8th 2014. There will be a VE testing session following the last class. There is no cost to attend the class itself.

We will be using the[masked] Technician Class study manual by Gordon West. The manual is highly recommended and can be purchased through the club at our cost. The exact cost will depend on the number ordered, but will be around $20. The FCC license testing fee is $15.

The deadline to RSVP is January 17, 2014 in order to get the books ordered and distributed. There will be a pre-study worksheet distributed to complete prior to the first class session.

Note: The classroom is in a secured area and visitors need to be escorted. If no one is at the door to greet, you, call[masked] from a cell phone. Do not use the lobby phone as it goes directly to 911.

How long are the classes each day?

The class is scheduled from 8am to 5pm the first Saturday, but I doubt it will go that long. The second Saturday will be a half day of instruction and review with the testing session in the afternoon. The test is 35 multiple choice questions.
