Medium Games!

  • Jun 22, 2013 · 1:00 PM
  • Joe's House

This is for folks who don't want to play Twlight Imperium but are still in the mood for something on the long side (but not as long as TI). Please don't sign up for both.  Due to issues with the HOA, we are limited to ten guest parking permits plus the four spots in my driveway.  So in addition to limiting the number of total attendees, please keep in mind the possibility of needing to park elsewhere and get shuttled in.  Carpooling is a good idea too.  My apologies.  Sigh...

Bring your own or learn a new one! I'll have snacks and soda on hand. We may end as soon as 6pm or we could go as late as midnite.  Depends on how insatiable our hunger for gaming is!

Games come in the following shapes and flavors:
light vs. deep (amount of thinking required)
short vs. long (anywhere from about an hour to six hours)
cooperative vs. competitive (helping each other against the game vs. competing against each other)
economic vs. aggressive (build and grow vs. attacking and defeating others)
people vs. game (focus is on getting to know each other vs. focus is on enjoying the game itself)

I just got off work and it will be pretty late when I make it there. I am sorry. T.T

I will not consume a parking pass, since I can sneak my motorcycle into the driveway beside a car.

Actually... a friend of mine from out of town is here and we're doing something touristy-related in the afternoon. We should stop by around 6 or so, after some of the crowd has left. He doesn't need a parking permit. Should I cancel my RSVP??

Joe is that parking down at the metro free and open all night? If so we could always park some folks down there and shuttle them.

That would work too, perhaps as a Plan B.

I'm sorry to cancel, but looked at my calendar and realized I have conflicting events. Def want to make it again sometime. In the meantime, let my loss be someone else's gain!

I like how now you're calling it "medium games" since you know... some of the time 5+ hour games are played during the "short" games events! I really would like a quick game of Avalon (Arthur-themed version of Resistance) with everyone this time!

Also, if you're not allergic to dogs (the backseat is usually our dog's spot), we can pick people up from home, or at the metro station.
