Subject: [I-Love-Watching-Movies] Amessage from Sue

Hey all,

The first Friday of each month, The Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville (this is the theater where they filmed the original "The Blob"!) shows an older scifi or horror film. Friday March 5th at 9:45pm, they will be showing the classic Lucio Fulci's Zombie.

Lucio Fulcis unofficial follow up to George Romeros Dawn of the Dead (1978) is a twisted, scary and fun romp in the zombie genre. After a sailboat shows up in New York harbor with the undead on it, Anne (Tisa Farrow) and Peter (Ian McCulloch) go looking for the boats owner. Their journey takes them to Matul Island where a mad man is bringing the dead back to life. Part voodoo and part science, this shocking tale reveals the dangers when one person decides to play God. The film has a realistic nightmare quality to it as if somewhere this might have actually happened. To get anyone to watch the film all you have to say is Zombie vs. Shark (check it out on YouTube) and youre there.

I wanted to see if anyone might be interested in checking this out. Their website is www.thecolonialtheatre.com - scroll down to "programs" and click on "first Friday fright nights" to see everything about the event.

Upcoming shows include The Fly (April 2nd) and House of 1000 Corpses (May 7th). Also, July 7th will be Blobfest, where you will be able to re-create the "running from the theater" shot from the original movie!

Let me know what you think!

Sue
