The Need a Dance Partner MeetUp group hit 400 members yesterday. Wow, that is totally amazing to me. I've not met all 400 of you--YET, but I'm hopeful that eventually I'll meet at least a few hundred more of you.
I know some of you are still out there, teetering just on the edge of taking a lesson, coming out to dance, and at the last minute opting to sit on the couch. Hey, I can totally relate, I sat on the couch for years...it was quite comfortable there in my comfort zone. One day I finally got up the courage to try a lesson, and wow, it has been life changing. I've learned to dance, I've made some wonderful new friends, and I've danced in some great places.
Thank you for your continued support..especially to those of you who have been posting events/classes and taking on the role of event hosts when I have been out of town. I really enjoy getting out and dancing with so many of you when I am out and about. I have even gotten brave enough to ask men to dance when the math isn't all that great. Asking a guy to dance beats sitting at the table wishing you were dancing every time.
This Saturday night we'll be having a new member welcome at the SOKOL all country dance. Not sure about your dancing skills? It's ok, there are a lot of great dancers there that night, you can come out and watch the dancing, ask questions and just connect with some new friends. No pressure to jump out there and dance, see it as an opportunity to dip a toe in the water. We had a big crowd last month and it really was great to not only be able to dance, but to talk and meet a few new people.
For my dancing friends who I haven't seen in awhile, isn't it time you came out to dance with us? I'm sure you need an Ann hug, right?
