Get off the couch and get out on the dance floor!

:o)

May? Really how in the heck did April zoom by so darn fast.  I was home almost all month--slow time for travel.  There were times when I didn't think the month would end, but here we are just on the eve of May.  I've loved some of these pretty days we've had in April--I know that the scorching hot weather is probably not all that far off.

I really do have an assignment for you this month.  There are 672 members of this group, 40 people have joined in the month of April.  I am constantly amazed at all of the people looking for someone to dance with, and to just have some fun out at the local honky tonks.  In the beginning of this Meet Up group I was out quite a big dancing, not so much now.  So I'm not there with  sign and a smile and a hug to welcome the new people.  So, I'm elevating you all to the position of dance ambassadors.  This month, will you make an effort to reach out to some of the other members of the group, if nothing else just to say hi?  It's pretty easy to post a greeting on the other members' pages, and no it's not creepy to say hi and introduce yourself.  You don't have to reveal your phone number, your email address.  This is not meant to be a dating site---but there have been some great friendships, and relationships that have happened on the dance floor.

For the new members--and my regulars, please add your events to the calendar for May.  I've added a few classes and venues, but I know there are a lot more of you heading out to dance.  If you think about it, take a sign along with you--let me know if you need help with that.  Be that smiling face to welcome the newbies, you remember how it was the first time you attended an event.  We're not a real traditional type MeetUp group..there are members that have been here since the beginning and they don't often RSVP for events.  If you are coming, please let us know--and if you don't have a photo posted to the site it's going to be really challenging for us to see you, so please make yourself known.

I can't promise there will always be a partner there for you to dance with.  But your chances of finding someone go up if you make contact with someone before arriving.

Enjoy this wonderful weather and keep dancing!

Ann
