NOTE ON LOCATION: This meetup will be in a private home in Franklin. I'll send details a couple days before the meetup.

From Wikipedia:

Dubliners is a collection of 15 short stories by James Joyce, first published in 1914. They form a naturalistic depiction of Irish middle class life in and around Dublin in the early years of the 20th century.

Well, heck. I've had a washing machine leak, and the carpet in the den will now have to be replaced. So I'll be shopping for carpeting...I'd much rather chat about Dubliners!

Sorry to hear about your misfourtune, Lee! Our misfortune was that it kept you out of the discussion.

Thanks, Sylvia. Wish I could have been there. Joyce has some great insight into our conflicting emotions about others and ourselves. As for the carpeting, just another day in the life of a homeowner.

Well, I hate to cancel the first meeting I've signed up for, but I just got a retail job, and they're making me come in this evening 5-9. I can't turn it down because I need the money. Hopefully I can make it to another meeting!

Sorry, I don't have a ride so I won't be able to make it. Quite frankly, I wasn't that wild about this book, but I always find new insights and usually an added appreciation from the meetings. Have fun.

Hey guys, did we agree last month that we would be meeting at Tracy's place this time around? If so could somebody please send me the address? My email is [masked]. Thanks! Sorry to hear you won't be able to make it Lee, good luck with the carpet.

Is there anyone coming from the West End / Harding / Vanderbilt / Lion's Head side of town with whom I can hitch a ride? I was hoping I would be driving by now, but my doctor tells me I shouldn't drive quite yet. Thus I'm still dependent on others for driving me places when walking and the bus aren't options. Thanks in advance!

I better start reading! This has been on my list of books to read for awhile.
