DANDIYA FESTIVAL on 20th Oct.at Pandara Park

Dandiya Festival - traditional folk dance performed during navratras; the dance unfolds to the beat of dhol; colorful sticks are used as props.
Time: 7.30 - 11.30 p.m.
Dates: 20th Oct. 2012
Venue: Pandara Park, Pandara road, near Bikaner House
Entry: Free by Passes
it would be nice if you go dressed for the occasion. Dresses are available on hire from the mkt.or contact Harish who knows someone.
later on we could have dinner at the pandara road eateries or there will be food stalls at the venue also.
all those members who were depending on Anuj for passes is not in Delhi (left for Amritsar last nite). he has passed on the passes to Tejinder [masked]) Please coordinate with him well in advance before you reach the site.
lets all meet at the ENTRY GATE OF PANDARA PARK at 6.45 p.m. on sat. 20th so that we are all together as a group. DANDIYA STICKS are available at the venue. We shall wait till 7.20 for all to gather before we enter the venue.

Indeed it was a gr8 & a rare event in the sense that you rarely see so many people in traditional attire at a single platform. Kudos to Happy People who showed a lot of enthusiasm with the attendance crossing 60 mark which is a record of its own. The crowd was awesome. Many congratulations to Anjali for hosting back to back super duper events for the group. We have certaily raised the bar of event hosting.

What a great event last nite was. when the dhool and the beat of the drums started rolling, and the feets started tapping and the ladies in their beautiful fineries with diyas in their hands started dancing to the tunes of garba - what a sight it was - soooo beautiful and wonderful to watch and soon all of us also were dancing with the dandiya sticks in the adajacent circle area.....

hi , pooja i got two passes . In one pass four person can go inside. But remember guys no handbags, helmet , water bottle , firm arms allowed inside. timing of the GARBA is from 6.30 pm to 10 pm

Hi, I have never been to a Dandiya before so wanted to know.. do we get dresses at the venue or we have to arrange them by ourselves? I hope dresses are required or we could suit ourselves in casuals? Thanks!!
