PARTY on the Point!!!

Great local Bands and mingling on the beach!

Gates open at 5:30, I will not get there until 6:30. I will meet everyone at the Turtle Sculpture in the sand just past the patio. This is where we will meet every week. If some of you want to arrive early leave a message on the site for those who will be there as well... It's a great mingle on the beach and so nice to see the ships in the harbor

The popular live music series Party at the Point is back in swing this season at the Charleston Harbor Resort in Mt. Pleasant. Music will start around 6 p.m. every week in the Sunset Deck area. The series continues through late July.

Organizer Rob Lamble (of Ear for Music) booked a variety of local and touring rock, funk, alt-country, and pop artists. The following week’s event is billed as Virginia Americana/rock band Sons of Bill’s CD release party with support from the Greenville-based Southern-rock/country group the Piedmont Boys. Forthcoming concerts include performances by Long Miles, Dub Island and the Dubplates, the Dave Matthews Tribute Band , Will Hoge, Southwood, the Movement, Of Good Nature, Sgt. Submarine, Sol Driven Train, Fowler’s Mustache, Drivin’ N’ Cryin’, and Luke Cunningham.

This is the schedule for the rest of the season.... I am going to try to make all of the Fridays.... In the event I can not get there I will make the same meeting place each week for as long as there is interest.... The admission is listed, the parking is $5.00, but you can park on the streets outside of the Hotel on any grassy area and it's free. The walk is short from the Hotel entrance.

@Maya no wonder I couldn't find anything. Me and my friend drove/walked all around Patriots point. The guy who worked the gate didn't even know it had been cancelled.

I work in N. Charleston and could tell the weather wouldn't be condusive to a party on the beach so I didn't go. You should've called the hotel if you had any concern about the weather and they would've informed you. It's not up to anyone else to post a cancellation. This is an informative posting to let people know about this weekly event and the bands scheduled to play.

The opening night this year was crawling with kids. I don't recall seeing any the 2nd time but it is okay to bring children.
