"Stir Crazy" - Iron Chef team cooking event - no experience necessary!!

IE Foodies and guests will be holding our first ever team cooking event (many more to come, yes!).

This cooking competition is based on the game "Stir Crazy," which can be played by 6-20 players and can be repeated with different themes based on the set of ingredients that are available. We will use the Mexican theme since just about everyone in So Cal would be familiar with possibilities to create!

No experience necessary!! Participants must be able to play nice with others :)

~ The game ~
Each participant will bring one ingredient (we will tell you which one to bring). When you arrive, all ingredients are pooled together. [Just added - I am going to purchase all of the ingredients for the participants - please send pre-payment via EventBrite ($8.00 chef/teams): http://iefoodies.eventbrite.com].

A game spinner (imagine like the Wheel of Fortune game show) is used to form the teams and then to determine which ingredients belong to which team.

Teams have 90-minutes to prepare three dishes based on ingredients sorted to their team: appetizer, main dish, and dessert. Before we eat, teams will name their dish!

Maybe this game is where Caesar Salad, Baked Alaska, and Pound Cake were created?  Kitchen space, oven, bbq, utensils, etc will be available.

Attendees will vote on the dishes for the coveted foodie awards based on naming of dish, originality, deliciousness (taste) and plating (appearance).

If you are not interested in cooking, you can attend as a judge.
Judges only = $10 at the door.

Big thanks to Nadine, Becky L., Bethany and Yolanda who have volunteered to help the teams so everyone will have a great time (and the food will undoubtedly be DELICIOUS!!).
More volunteers are always welcomed!
