We owe a big thank-you to those individuals who put in so much attention and effort in order to maintain an active interest and events for meetings of like minds. I know it takes a lot of organizational skill and also--again--effort to provide these opportunities for continued involvement. Thank-you, Sherry and Bruce R.

I enjoyed getting to know the people I talked to seemed very interesting. Unfortuanatly I contracted the worst flu virus of my life there. Some Fk'n mor-on came with a terrible flu virus that could of killed my weak Mother I care for and still could! Last time I shake or touch hands with anyone from this group!

My husband and I arrived a few minutes late, and weren't exactly sure where everyone was meeting (I assumed the group had already left by the time we arrived), but we had a fun hike! The scenery is beautiful and the trail is very well maintained. Hopefully next time we can make it early enough to meet everyone. :-)

Sorry I didn't get to meet everybody, had issues with my daughters school, so I went early. It's funny, the girl behind the counter had to confirm what group I was giving for, and practically whispered 'atheist' so no one would hear. I spoke up and told her she would probably see a few more today.

For my first group meeting I was pleased to find an instant frindship with true genuine people, not hiding behind the mask of dogma. Reason and evidence prevailed once again. thanks for this group in the high desert. Its local and the High Desert needs this badly. The population has grown tremendously and people who are atheist, agnostic, skeptic, freethinking need a support system in the desert cities.

Awesome group! Super friendly, I felt so welcome. This meeting has truly changed my life, I couldn't figure out a way to explain/express how I was feeling about beliefs that were hanging on.      Everyone was open, friendly and non-judgmental. I could have been a conservative Christian and been welcomed (as long as I didn't try to preach to the others.) Great way to have the "Church" socialization without the guilt and rules.      The comment I heard last night and which I agree is that, "I want to be around people like me." Atheists are people too. We simply find value in ourselves and one another and don't feel compelled to depend on a god to give our lives value, purpose, or meaning.

  • Inland Empire Atheists and Agnostics

I would like to see the Atheist nonreligious choice become more mainstream and accepted. I also want the religious to keep in mind that not everyone shares their views, such as "Let's bow our heads for prayer." They could just as easily say, "Let's have a moment of silence," where everyone is free to use that moment as they see fit, feeling included instead of excluded. I believe we will gain acceptance bybeing positive and showing ourselves as compassionate, loving humans. Someone mentioned doing charitable work like spending a day on a Habitat for Humanity build. I would like to see us do that. Doesn't cost anything. I am also curious about how we would be received since Habitat is a Christian based organization. The Adopt a Road idea is also good. Anyway, I would like others to join because there is power in numbers. Flying solo in your beliefs is a hard, lonely road. Thank you, Monica Mestas
