As Stat-Market is an expert in Machine Learning and Predictive Analytics, we'll be more than happy to contribute our fields' best practices. In any event, we'll have to separate between technical, operational and business sessions and as such bringing the right audience to the right session- that's what data mining is all about :)

Thanks for all your feedback. I think we should plan the next meeting along the lines of Shimon's comment - have something like two workshops using ML tools. Anyone with ideas/suggestions/tool preferences, please send them to Avner, so we could customize a meeting to fit the prospective audience.
Plus I heard that Avner would not mind having several more speakers who have some expertise doing Machine Learning...

Good explanations regarding what you can do with ML - no examples how to do it...

i liked the crisp dm presentation the most. business is like a phone number you have to know the steps and you have to know the right order.

about that that people say "A bit basic" what i expected is hands on experience with machine learning as in first half of the book "Data Mining: Practical Machine Learning Tools and Techniques." and display each in example with hands on in each program like R,mahout. + short introduction to r language. + setup of mahout and R. and full process of crisp dm with simple data like 2 users and few sales for each user.

A bit basic. I expected to get more into the product themselves.

I think the first presentation was too basic for the population

Would be interested in making ML/Analytics into a regular forum.

Yuval Feinstein was great. I think MediaMind's lecture could be a lot more effective if it had more time to elaborate on technical topics instead of headlines.

  • Nimrod Priell

Pier39 Case study was very interesting.
