Google Cloud Platform - App Engine and Beyond

Presenters:

Dr Peter Magnusson
Director of Engineering for App Engine at Google

Greg DeMichillie
Director Product Management, Cloud Platform at Google

Google App Engine is a complete development stack that uses familiar technologies to build and host applications on the same infrastructure used at Google.
It is used by some of the world most successful and demanding global applications such as SnapChat and Khan Academy.

Google Compute Engine allows everyone to Run large-scale computing workloads on Linux virtual machines hosted on Google's infrastructure.

GCE offers incredible performance, as demonstrated in breaking the world record for Hadoop MinuteSort by sorting 15 billion 100-byte records totaling 1.5 terabytes of data in 59 seconds.

Can you please send the agenda for the meetup?

    July 13, 2013

    • Eli M.

It's easy to answer, and I believe that I'm talking not only on behalf of me, but on behalf of most of the members:
      I prefer hands-on.
In addition, the lecture about the Compute Engine is much more interesting, as the new service of Google, while the App Engine is less interesting, because it has been existing for a long time.
      Thanks in any case!
