Marge and I finally decided we are heading up Saturday and will stay the night due to time change, ugh, we loose an hour! Last call to take over my Friday night hotel reservation! Room and parking is $125 a night plus taxes for 2 persons (extra person $12), this includes breakfast for a deluxe room.
Anyone who wants to join us for dinner please let us know. I heard the Great Dane is excellent downtown, maybe lunch there? http://www.greatdanepub.com/ - Marge recommends a Japanese resturant as well, maybe dinner there.
Anyone who also wants to do the parade as a group please comment as well and I suggest we all give phone numbers. If you don't want to post it you could send an email to either Abi, Marge or Myself. Mine is[masked] and I mainly text so that is best way to send me your number and contact me.

Hey guys! I just wanted to let you know that my husband and I will be wearing SAS sweatshirts (grey and red colored) so you can find us. Also, at the lunch break, I will hold up a sign with our logo on it so that we all may find each other and eat together. Oh, and don't forget to make signs if you plan to attend the pride parade on Saturday. See you there Saturday!

there are some housing cooperatives in the area that may be up for some people crashing on couches, floors.. i lived in one of them for a while.. if anyone is interested i can paint them in the right direction.. they usually require advance notice.. they don't charge money but do ask for donations if you eat the food (approx 3 bux a day)

There is a chance I will not be using the room I reserved at the Lowell Center. I should make my decision towards the end of the week so if you have interest in possibly taking this reservation over before I cancel please contact me. I will have a definite answer sometime next week. I have up till Friday to cancel this room. I am also interested in a carpool for one day if anyone is interested or going just for a day trip vs lodging.

We have our SUV if you want to carpool with us. How long we stay depends on if we can get someone to let the dog out.

Please remove me from attending the Freethought Festival as a member of this group. I am already confirmed as going as a member of Madison Skeptics and I don't want a double registration to keep someone else from signing up or getting in. THANKS.

    February 22, 2013

    • Janet B.

Henry this is just an RSVP for our meet up group so we know who is interested in going, maybe to carpool, sit together or room share or just to get intouch once we are there and to give members informations as to how to register. This meet up RSVP is not affiliated with the Freethought Festival in any way and will not register you for the event. Anyone interested in going will need to go to the FF own website and register so they can anticipate your attendence. http://freethoughtfes...

I'll be attending with Madison Skeptics rather than this group. I hope this will cancel only this one confirmation and not both.

Hey, I just registered. It took about a minute. Thanks, Abi and Ms Monkey! I have reserved two rooms at the Best Western. Rooms are filling up fast, so if you are thinking about going, you should reserve ASAP. Just be sure it has "free cancellation." The BW has good rates and is about 15 minutes SW of the festival.

Maybe we can smuggle puppy boy in!

Scott is an elite member with Holiday Inn, so he may see if they can let us in even though he is way over the size limit. Here's hoping!

Hi All, the Lowell Center is a convention center and hotel. I booked a room there for 2 nights and Marge is changing her reservation as well. The deluxe room is $234 for 2 nights for 2 persons, $12 extra per person per night and it includes breakfast. There is an additional parking fee. They did not have a discounted rate for the festival but I did email the coordinator to see if they were planning on trying to get a group rate. I would suggest reserving a room ASAP if you wanted one for yourself. http://www.conferencing.uwex.edu/

Thanks! Attention all planning to attend: You MUST go to this website (http://freethoughtfestival.org/) and register or you WILL NOT be let in. Remember, this event is FREE! :)

Click on the "Schedule" tab to see what the planned speakers, times, and themes will be for each day. Lunch will be from 11AM-1PM and most likely we will stay on the UW campus to eat (that way you don't have to get your car out of the paid garages). There are many restaurant choices as well as little shops to visit nearby. Personally, I think my husband and I will attend Friday-Saturday and stay in a hotel. I also like to take notes during the lectures.

Not information to make reservations. What's available? Hotels? Restaurants? What happens where? Need many more details.

    January 16, 2013

    • Abi W.

FFRF has not posted any times, schedules, locations, etc. as of yet. I will post more when I see they have updated the info and afterwards you will need to RSVP at their site to get a pass. If you want a hotel, I suggest an internet search close to the UW campus/capitol building. Last year members only came up for the day and ate on the UW campus since you only get an hour lunch break in-between lectures.

Ellena. If you would like to stay in one of the rooms at Best Western, we have room for you. We will discuss further at our Sunday meeting. So far it's just me, Janet, and her daughter. Several others are thinking of going but not committed. First come, first served!
