Have to pass on first meeting - next time! Would be interested in hearing back from the group if a weeknight 7-9 time slot might work for future meetings.

It's not supported in the app. You need to use the web.

I found the meetup to be useful and I am going to try processing.js asap. I'm also looking forward to the next meetup.

Your HTML apps are really cool. I'll have to switch to games for sure. I spent too much time on practical stuff, time for some fun. My jQuery mobile web app is still running, you can try it at: http://focusedforsucc..., login demo, no password.

I definitely took a few gems away. I didn't expect HTML skills would be of much use as a way of getting started. I know it's not optimal but it gives me a way to do something right away. Eric, thanks for pulling this together.

HTML works well. It's hard to get web pages to be responsive. jQuery & jQuery Mobile cache pages automatically. Here's a web app designed for iPhone I did 3 years ago: http://focusedforsucc..., just type: demo, no password, login. It gives you and idea of what can be done with the package.

I really enjoyed the meet up. Thanks for the advice to use iAd and leverage games. Eric and I discussed the pros/cons of using iCloud vs. Dropbox. I started using the Dropbox Sync API - very, very simple compared to iCloud or Dropbox Core - but limited to App access vs. Full Dropbox access. Perfect for fixing the sync problems in my app. I'm about 1/2 done with my project adding cloud to the Vim app.

Cloud stuff is big... I got an invite from Technology Executives Club LinkedIn Group - IT Trends Seminar on Enterprise Mobility on April 24th. Also got a message from a headhunter: Senior Infrastructure Architect experienced in designing and implementing infrastructure to support enterprise mobile application delivery.

Looking forward to our next meet up.

Sorry, I will not be able to attend due to scheduling conflicts. I look forward to attempting to attend in the future.

Heads up: it looks like the location description (east of Walgreens on 137) is about a different Starbucks than the address (159 Buckley Rd vs. 542 North Milwaukee). Might be worth clarifying which is correct.

Nick: OK, cool, so if that's the one, then the description at the top of the page ("Just east of Walgreens on route 137 in the red brick strip stores facing the open field across the street.") should probably be removed, yeah?

I see the conflict now. I guess Eric needs to finally calrify this.

This place is literally two blocks from my house. I don't think I'll be able to make the first meeting, but will definitely be on the watch for future meetings!

This is great, a meetup in my hood!

I'm interested in developing or having an app developed for iOS. It's been a long time since I wrote software - so not sure it would be effective for me to do it myself.

    March 29, 2013

    • nick h.

I have done c, but not c++ so as you can see my software experience is quite dated. But, yes it will be worth connecting.
