IOToronto 1 Year Anniversary Meetup

It's been just over a year since this meetup was created and we're approaching 350 members!

We get a great mix of engineers, entrepreneurs, designers, and hobbyists coming out, so come join us for our 1 year anniversary meetup !

I'm working on booking a startup to present as well we'll be doing the Open Mic.  Anybody who wants to pitch to the crowd has 5 minutes to talk about their project or startup and take a few questions.

Stuff we talk about:

1) Wireless transmission technologies (zigbee, ip, bluetooth le)

2) Open Source Hardware (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc)

3) Hardware/Software connectivity techniques and software

4) Sensor technology

5) other cool stuff???

I'm currently working with all these technologies for SensorSuite so if you've got questions about any of the above I'll be glad to point you in the right direction for your own projects..

>>> Applications are open for startups looking to pitch their stuff to the crowd .. please contact me if you're interested in presenting!

I was the guy that talked about a wireless music player/processor. Really enjoyed meeting people and hearing about their projects. I picked-up some new things about bluetooth. I live in Montreal, but I guess Toronto is where its happening!

Feel free to connect with me to learn about my work, share ideas, etc: [masked]

This was my first meeting and it was not what i expected, did not expect to be getting handed business cards from recruiting agency for instance. I did however have a good chat with a few folks at the meeting and in general enjoyed to evening

Sorry but im a little bad with names but was quite interested in the heart rate monitor open hardware device mentioned, would be great to see a prototype demo or something on another night.

I was a little disapointed to not see more of the viscosity device, the tech behind it could be quite interesting even though the target use seems to be embarising or uncomfortable to some. I am sorry the presenter may have cut short his presentation because of a few sniggers and giggles from the audience, he seemed to be the only one there tonight with some kind of product and a willingness to share, Good on you for trying, perhaps on another meeting you could give us a tech rundown on the device. I for one am quite curious

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
