The Global Internet of Things day is on April 9 and we're holding a celebration in Toronto !


8pm : How iBeacon and Bluetooth LE are driving the Internet of Things

Learn more about one of the most prominent technologies driving the Internet of Things and Wearable products. This presentation will introduce you to BTLE concepts and how it plays a role in this exciting new landscape.

Speaker Bio

Robert Platek, CEO/Founder, SensorSuite Inc.

Robert Platek (@robstar) has been a software/hardware engineer for over 20 years. He has always been fascinated with hardware/software interactions and how software can affect things in the real world. Recently, Rob merged his passion for hardware and software, with his latest startup, SensorSuite's low cost wireless sensors, in conjunction with the SensorSuite cloud sensor monitoring software, allow users to monitor various aspects of their business and personal environments.

Anybody who wants to pitch to the crowd has 5 minutes to talk about their project or startup and take a few questions.

About the Event:

We get a great mix of engineers, entrepreneurs, designers, and hobbyists coming out, so come join us for beers, ideas, and great discussion.

1) Wireless transmission technologies (zigbee, ip, bluetooth le)

2) Open Source Hardware (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc)

3) Hardware/Software connectivity techniques and software

I'm currently working with all these technologies for SensorSuite so if you've got questions about any of the above I'll be glad to point you in the right direction for your own projects..
