IOToronto Maker Edition

Summer is upon us, and we're holding a special IOToronto at MakeWorks!

"Digital, meet Physical."

MakeWorks is Toronto's first shared lab for connected devices startups. Everything at MakeWorks is designed around a core principle of "community + innovation = growth," and so we provide the tools, mentorship and community for our startups to thrive.

Agenda

7:00 :  Mingle

We get a great mix of engineers, entrepreneurs, designers, and hobbyists coming out, so come join us for beers, ideas, and great discussion.

8:15   : Open Mic

Anybody who wants to pitch to the crowd has 5 minutes to talk about their project or startup and take a few questions.

About the Event:

We're currently looking for IOT startups to demo their stuff.  Please email me at [masked] if you're interested.

Stuff we talk about:

1) Wireless transmission technologies (zigbee, ip, bluetooth le)

2) Open Source Hardware (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc)

3) Hardware/Software connectivity techniques and software

4) Sensor technology

5) other cool stuff???

I'm currently working with all these technologies for SensorSuite so if you've got questions about any of the above I'll be glad to point you in the right direction for your own projects..

>>> Applications are open for startups looking to pitch their stuff to the crowd in a more official way (15 mins).. please contact me if you're interested in presenting!

There is also a green P lot half a block north between Sheridan/Dufferin ($5/24hrs), and Dufferin Mall is only a few blocks north of us if you don't mind a short walk!
