IOToronto Summer Meetup ** Free Drinks Edition

It's time for our summer meetup and this month we have a very special sponsor!

Bolt.io, a seed stage hardware incubator and VC fund, is coming all the way from Boston.  They will be sponsoring drink and food for the event!

We're working on getting a few startups to present and will have the Open Mic as usual.  Anybody who wants to pitch to the crowd has 5 minutes to talk about their project or startup and take a few questions.  Startups interested in presenting, please email [masked]

We get a great mix of engineers, entrepreneurs, designers, and hobbyists coming out, so come join us for beers, ideas, and great discussion.

Stuff we talk about:

1) Wireless transmission technologies (zigbee, ip, bluetooth le)

2) Open Source Hardware (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc)

3) Hardware/Software connectivity techniques and software

4) Sensor technology

5) other cool stuff???

I'm currently working with all these technologies for SensorSuite so if you've got questions about any of the above I'll be glad to point you in the right direction for your own projects..

More about Bolt.io:

Bolt is a seed-stage venture capital fund that invests capital, personnel, equipment, and expertise in startups at the intersection of hardware and software. Hi again everyone!

There was a gentleman at the meet who represented a crowd-funding organization and I was rushed for time to catch a bus out of town. I had a few questions about Canadian crowd-funding and I'd love to chat about it.

Would anyone happen to know this gentlemen's name?

    Thanks a million in advance!

Hi Murray! I'm back from Chicago and I've been trying to reach you. Any chance we can get a phone chat or F2F going? Message me at [masked]

      Cheers!

Thanks Rob, Jason, and the good folks at Bolt.io for a great event. Can't wait to present again to you all - without the rush or tech problems (my bad on that last one!).

Unfortunately, I cannot make tonight's event, but I'm looking for partners to begin a startup founded on a revolutionary wearable device. Persons who are serious about starting a new business contact me for discussions over your hot drink of choice.

While not exactly IOT if anyone is interested in working on advanced sensor technology plus is comfortable across the domains of analog and digital HW, and signal processing algorithms then lets talk tonight.

I'll look for you tonight or find me. Most of the hardware projects I'm currently working on involves the processing of sensor data. Everything from industrial to medical. Our main software focus is linux but get alot of attention since we android anything which is a custom build for embedded applications.

Sounds intriguing... I've founded an organization that is looking to translate technologies (sensors including) and their data into music making devices for kids with disabilities. I'd love to meet you all and find out more about what you're up to. I should be doing a presentation, but find the dude in a purple & checkered shirt. Can't wait to meet everyone.
