Hey guys, hope you all could finish well and that the morning was great! Unfortunately I got there kind of late (7am), got caught up in the bathroom line for minutes, couldn't find anybody from the group, or the pacers team..... anyway! lol. But I got to the start line on time and the race was great!! Thank you all for the support!

  The website says that US naval academy will be forming the pacers' team and you sign up for it at the expo, the day you pick up you bib. I'm planning to sign up for the 2:00 pacers team, if anybody also has similar goals to finish the race, let me know! :)

  this is my first big race, so I am a little worried about aiming for a specific pace. expecting to run slowish. plus will have my gps watch to remind me of my pace. but I will ask about the pace team when I go downtown on thursday, maybe they will convince me to sign up for the 2:30 pace team.

  @Melissa Where's the positivity?? ;) There's a lot of restaurants on Barrack's Row. Based on the numbers, I doubt any restaurant can fit all of us at the same time and there will be wait times for any restaurant that we choose. Since we have half and full marathon racers, people will be finishing at different times, so I was thinking we can pick a general time to meet and whoever is there can form groups and get different booths. If that doesn't work, there's always Banana Cafe, Matchbox Pizza, etc.

  We can meet at Molly Malone's, 1 block down, 12pm for brunch. They can accommodate a large group of at least 25 ppl since the general upstairs area is closed on weekends - they can open it up for us so we can sit in the same area.

We are a group of runners in our 20's and 30's, with members ranging from beginner runners to those who have been running for years. Nothing like knowing others are waiting for you to make sure you go out and run! We are not competitive, regardless of pace (we have some very fast runners in the group, and very slow runners, and even if you can't run the whole thing, and need a walk break, it's ok). We always welcome new faces!

Our weekday runs are always by time, not distance, so that we can all begin and end together. Our long runs are on Saturday mornings, but there's always an option on running for time as well.

There are plenty of groups out there for competitive runners but not much for the runners who want a laid back environment to meet new friends, keep them motivated to run, and have company when training for a race (or run for other reasons -- personal goals? Weight Loss? Just because?).

If you want to have fun when you're running, and make some great new friends, this is the group for you!

The focus will be getting people who are committed to train together and motivate each other, no matter how slow or far you go at first. No need to be intimidated!

We also participate in many local races as a group (check out our calendar) -- it's always a blast! Running is a lot more fun in a group. We have trained together for the Shamrock Half Marathon, National Half, Cherry Blossom Ten Miler, VA Beach Rock n Roll Half Marathon, Army Ten Miler, Chicago Marathon and the Marine Corps Marathon.

We will also train together for this year's races!

Of course, you don't have to be running a race to join our training runs -- we just need the company to keep us motivated to start and finish each time!

The vast majority of the runs are in the Arlington area. Sometimes we grab a snack or coffee on those weekend morning runs and plan a happy hour (and occasional social events like BBQ) about once a month.
