There is a Living Social getaway for the springhill suites hotel in annapolis. $94 for the nite, includes parking and $20 hotel credit (incl for wine or beer). That's what I used. Not as close as the loews, but less expensive.

i don't mind the race fee. its the lodging expenses that I was trying to save on. RnR DC is even more expensive :-/

Nina, I've signed up for this and I'm planning to get a taxi at 5am on the day of the race. After the race, I'm planning to spend sometime in annapolis and come back to dc by public transport (around 6-7pm). Happy to share the taxi if you want, I have been quoted a 75$ fee
