What to expect:

This is a community networking event. This is to reach out to IT techs since many people in our network are looking for IT help or "co-founders"... and this is an opportunity for IT pros to meet prospective clients and business associates. You'll make new contacts who may be able to refer you in the future. This is a chance to learn about what nonprofit organizations are looking for, to share your expertise as a webmaster, IT business owner or web technology specialist and to practice relationship and marketing skills for overall career development and community support.

Being successful as a webmaster or IT business owner involves understanding where others are coming from, especially people who are not IT pros. This is the place to become familiar with what it means to become more than a webmaster, to become a great communicator, master contributor and to be invited to join new projects as a revenue sharing partner.

The right brain does not work in a linear logical left brain fashion. It works more like a scanner, gaining more information with each scan or conversation. Commitment, interest, relationship skills, stability and emotional intelligence are more important than technical skill to many. Your interest is reflected over time with consistent participation as a member of the co-organizing committee for free ongoing community networking events. Express your interest to volunteer, demonstrate your capabilities and build comfort level with new prospects to move ahead with an entrepreneurial spirit.

The first step is to get to know each other better to see if we are ready to work together harmoniously with appreciation, forgiveness and understanding. These monthly community events provide opportunities to develop more allies and to connect with others interested in similar topics. Express your interest to the co-organizers and followup.

WHEN: 12:30PM TO 2:30PM on the third Sundays of each month.

This is a wonderful D.C. economic, personal and community development group, we welcome you! You will members from http://www.meetup.com/socialentrepreneurs/, meetup.com/networking/, meetup.com/onecity/ and others.

This meetup was awesome. I made some great contacts and see the possibility of doing business with at least two of them. I got a lot more out of this event than plenty of others I go to. It had a pretty unique format that really worked. I also had a good meal while we all networked. This event should definitely be on your to do list for August. I know it will be on mine.
