Dark Patterns

Usability principles and design patterns are used to guide and improve the experience of a product or service for its end users. But what happens when these UX conventions are abused for strategic gain? HCI/d student Jared Forney will lead a brief group activity and roundtable discussion about Dark Patterns, interactions designed to mislead and manipulate, and what they can teach us about users and the power of persuasion.

If you have an IU E parking pass, you may park in any A or C space after 5pm. By the time this event starts, there should be plenty of spots available in the east parking lot

For those without an IU pass, please consider parking in the public lot immediately south of the Cyber Infrastructure Building, on the south side of 10th St.

Please inquire about carpooling in the comments section if you need to arrange transportation.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
