Will you be headed to IXDA 13 in Toronto next year?
If so, here's a friendly reminder to consider the following:
- Transportation: Flights tend to get expensive, so be sure to book that flight early! The drive to Toronto is beautiful, but of course it is recommended you find a traveling buddy, or two. Perhaps one of your fellow IXDA Bloomington members?
- Visas: If you are an American citizen, a US Passport is the best way to get in. You can also use a driver's license and a document proving your citizenship (You must have both. See this page for more details). If not, you can qualify for a official sponsorship for the conference if you have purchased a ticket. Check out the IXDA 13 registration page for more information.
- Lodging: There are many options on AirBNB to be found -- all at pretty reasonable prices still. IXDA has also opened up more hotel rooms near the main conference location, though the official hotel (connected to the place) is sold out. Hurry to get a pretty decent rate! (I paid $130/night at the Hilton nearby, for reference).
- Things you are interested in: The conference officially starts on Sunday with workshops -- did you get a ticket to one? If not, the conference part of your adventure would start on Monday, 1/28/2013. For more information, check out the program on the conference website.
We (the organizers) have access to regional and national coordinators in case you have any specific questions about the conference or the items above -- so please don't be afraid to ask!
If you don't have a ticket, check out the registration page on the IXDA13 website
to see more about rates. It is common for societies or companies to sponsor some or all of the fee.
Have a great holiday!
