A full day intensive workshop
Featuring the Solarbotics “Sumovore”
Mini-Sumo Robot kit
Kick your electronics skills up a notch with IXR’s Robotics II Workshop! This intermediate-level class will challenge you as you build a more advanced, intelligent, competition-ready robot. In this build, you will assemble more complex circuitry, learn to handle delicate integrated circuits (IC chips), and perfect your soldering technique. Later, you can also expand your robot with an Arduino microcontroller for endless experimentation, customization, and robotics fun!
The Mini-Sumo robot will combat another Mini-Sumo by seeking the opponent with infrared sensors, and tries to push the opponent out of a sumo ring, that it can also sense and detect. Will your Mini-Sumo taste sweet victory, or suffer the humility of bitter defeat?
You will learn:
Class Cost: $225 – includes $100 materials cost (one robot kit with discrete brainboard). Complimentary pizza lunch will be provided.
Please register by May 19 to ensure we can order you a kit in time.
Payment for this class can be made here:
Kids bring a parent free!
Parent-child teams who are building a kit together pay only 1 registration.
