Two Hour Tuesdays - Eagle Creek Paddle Every Other Tuesday for Two Hours

Everybody needs some paddle time some time, right? And the more, the better, right? Well, for the very first time we are going to try a regular bi-weekly paddle on Tuesdays, starting June 4th! We will meet at the Dandy Trail Boat Ramp next to Rick's Boatyard cafe every other Tuesday evening from then on at 7 PM and plan to be off the water by 9 PM.

There is a $5 ramp fee, so bring cash each time to deposit into the box or you can purchase a yearly ramp pass for $40 from Eagle Creek Park. The pass is good from April to April. Do the math...you'd have to launch at least eight times to break even or more to save money. This might be worth the savings if you are paddling in the park other times as well.

The purpose of this two hour paddle is to increase skill level, confidence, stamina, and endurance. So, unless you're bringing a partner to do the lazy paddle (which I am very good at) then plan on doing some work! We won't leave anybody behind but please keep in mind we are going to want to build up to greater levels of distance and speed. This becomes easier as you improve your paddling technique. The best approach is to get started with us early and build up with us slowly. This will be great preparation for any of you considering a Boundary Water trip in the future (as Kevin and I are).

So, bring your boat or rent one from Freedom Kayak Adventures and come prepared with plenty of water, snack, sunglasses, (sunscreen?), (bug repellent?), weather adaptable clothing, and hat. PFD and paddle of course! Hosts reserve the right to cancel for high winds, thunderstorms, or sea monsters.

RSVP will be week by week. No commitments for the entire summer necessary.

The weather report says 65% chance of severe t-storms from 8-9PM, I am still planning to show up, but I am thinking dinner at Ricks Boatyard is more likely than paddeling tonight...

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
