I'm leaving the RSVP list wide open, but these trips typically only support 1-3 people total. So RSVP if you even have any interest all. I just want a list of people that are interested that I can contact, and we can go on...
Last minute overnight car-camps in springtime (May), staying in or near Forest Service campgrounds. I tend to do a few, quick, last-minute trips to campgrounds with hot springs nearby (short distance, might involve climbing down steep hillside/rock to get to springs that others ignore with river water being high). We would pack-up, leave Friday night after work (~5:30pm), drive[masked] hrs, setup a quick little camp, have a fire, eat something, drink something. Then when it gets dark, head to a hot spring to watch stars until early morning. Return to camp to sleep, get up, one last soak, head home early in the morning.
So not too much time commitment. There wouldn't necessarily be a lot of notice. Could be a Fri night-Sat. morning thing. Or Sat. night-Sun morning thing.
Get on the RSVP list, and when we get into springtime, and I start putting these quick little trips together, I'll contact people on the RSVP list.
**Disclaimer(s): YOU WILL NEED CAMPING GEAR TO STAY THE NIGHT. I do have some extra things, but at a minimum you need a tent and sleeping bag. You can likely expect some bare bodies in the hot springs we visit, but bathing suits are welcome to. There will also be responsible adult beverages being consumed at night. You've been warned. ;)
I am not responsible for your safety, insufficient gear, damage to your gear, etc. Each person needs to be responsible for their own conditioning, gear, safety, etc. There are potential risks on these types of trips that could result in serious injury, or even death. Whether it be due to weather, other environmental conditions, lack of conditioning, insufficient gear, wildlife threats, etc. Please be responsible and prepared. I am in no way responsible for anyone, except myself. We will of course always be as safe, and as responsible as possible. We will attempt never to take unnecessary risks, I just want to make sure I'm clear of the potential dangers with the wilderness.
