I give a 'free', forever ongoing, astronomy class at the Senior Center. You dont have to be a senior to join, but you must buy in for $72/year, which you can defer for at least a month, until you determine that you want to continue.
I've discovered that I have at least 3 years worth of stuff I can talk about that just skims the surface of what I'd like to talk about - weekly. My lectures are well prepared, and contain enormous resources from the live web, projected from my laptop to a flat screen TV.
Currently I'm on my way out of our galaxy. I spent a year in the solar system. If I have more students, I will have more to say. The more I challenge what you know, the more you ask, the more you'll dare me to tell you what I know.
I am willing to do this at another time and place. I have a place, 36st, west side, but the cost will be at least $80 for the room per night. I do not intend to make a profit.
The class meets Tuesdays at 12:45pm. Just come. 241 W 72st. Ask for Laird.
