Join Us in a Google Hangout About the Open the ILOpenTech Challenge

IMPORTANT UPDATE, March 4, 2013:

This meetup is now scheduled to be done remotely.

Due to weather and scheduling concerns, we will not be doing our Belleville meeting in person.

Instead, we will conduct a Google Hangout on Stay tuned for more details, but the long and the short of it is that we will be reviewing the rules, talking about Belleville data, and answering any questions from anybody statewide.

See you all tomorrow at 6PM here at!

Join us for the second Belleville meeting of the Illinois Open Technology Challenge(ILOpenTech) at Belleville City Hall in the Council Chambers.

We published the rules, gave information on judging, and announced the prizes.

At this meetup, we'll field any questions and be available to give advice on submissions. We'll also talk more about the data, facilitate team discussions and formation, and hear from the community about their technology needs.

There will be lots to discuss-- please join us!

Here's how we see our evening together:

6:30 - 7:00  Introductions

We'll go around the room, introduce ourselves, and say a brief statement about what you’re up to.

7:00 – 7:30 Review the Challenge Rules

We'll review the rules (see the rules here and a blog post accompanying the rules), the information on judging, and announce the prizes. There will be $15,000 in prize money for a Rockford-focused solution.

7:30 – 8:30 Discussion and Team Formation

We'll answer questions and talk amongst ourselves about data, technology, and community!

I am not sure how to join the conversation - but I am very interested in learning more about this initiative.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
