Does everyone know who their STATE Senators and Representatives are and how to reach them? Let me know! I prepared a little instruction sheet for this and I'm "beta testing" it now. I'm happy to share it with you. (reach me at legislabel [at] g mail and you know the rest!)

At work today people asked where I was yesterday. I told them I had gone to the protest march downtown against Monsanto and GMOs. Most did not understand what GMOs are! Education! Education! Education! We have to share our knowledge about the dangers Monsanto and GMOs bring to the table! Its the only way we are going to win this thing and put an end to GMO in America. I will be on the internet and phone next week calling Reps and Senators regarding GMO labeling. Thanks for letting me share.

I totally agree with you! I think it starts with just talking with people like the ones you meet. And of the ones who know what GMOs are and want them labeled, many do not know who their state representatives are (who will be voting on our Illinois labeling bills!) The federal ones are important but so are the state ones!

Very organized. Great march! Had hoped better turnout. With it being empty downtown and the lack of news coverage wish message could have reached more people.

The always modest police estimate was over 1000. The more realistic estimates based on the percentage of federal plaza filled were closer to[masked] - a big crowd - a warm sunny day might have helped. Everyone can help by asking their newspaper, favorite news channel, etc. where they were. They all had information about it. But that said, at the gathering in Grant Park afterwards lots of people stayed, organized, and will be working on this! And lots of people got the message!
