[free] Night Photowalk - June 21st

  • Jun 21, 2014 · 8:00 PM

RSVP to [masked] for full details:

Every month, night owls among us gather to celebrate photography under the night sky. A small group of us, as few as 3 and as many as 70 get together for an evening night of photography. Every outing offers different opportunities and each participant brings to the event his or her own special style. Join us on June 21st for this monthly tradition.

Happy Shooting,

I really enjoyed photographing downtown Denver - it was a beautiful warm night and good company. I hope to learn from all of your expertise.....(Rookie Linda).

I was looking forward to meeting new friends and learning some night shooting techniques, but I never got the meet location or information. Hopefully next month.

I learned something new-as always. Lots of fun, and a great group of people. AND, great weather!

Any chance of getting accepted? It says RSVP's are closed, but there are still 10 open spots. I would love to attend with a guest!

For those who want to get a nice skyline shot before or after, there is a 7 floor parking garage on the NE corner of 18th and Wazee that offers a great view. Since it's not on the route thought I'd share. Please be aware I don't know if they are photographer friendly or not as there was no attendant to check with when I went.

Efrain usually emails us the location within 1-2 days of the photo walk. I did go to the Chihuly exhibit this past weekend, and it wasn't dark enough by their 9 p.m. closing time to get any true night shooting in. This may be fun to go back to for night shots once the days are shorter.

      Thanks for explaining Melanie.
You're right, the exhibit isn't ideal for night photography because it's still too bright by the time the Gardens close.

Additionally, we haven't had much luck having attendees pay a $15 entrance fees for an event that is usually free.

Also wondering if a spot has been chosen yet???

    June 20, 2014

  • Justin M.

Has the location been set at this point?

    June 20, 2014

  • Diane K.

RSVPs are closed, but you still have four spots left. Can I RSVP thru this post for myself and a +1. Also, I think two members of my camera club would be interested in attending as well. Is it okay to let them know about the night shoot? Thanks, Diane.

I wouldn't be able to do Chiluly Exhibit Sat. night as I'm going Sunday (already have tickets). But I think it's a good idea for everybody. If you select that, I'll meet up with you next time!

I agree with Cristyn's suggestion re: Chihuly exhibit at Denver Botanic Gardens only at 6 pm, dusk or "magic hour"

Do you have a location yet for Saturday? What about the Chihuly exhibit at Denver Botanic Gardens?
