2.5 Mile Weekday Walk - McDowell Grove Forest Preserve - Naperville

Let's take an easy 2.5 mile walk at McDowell Grove Forest Preserve on the northwest side of Naperville on Thursday, June 19th, at 10:30 am. The entrance to McDowell is on the east side of Raymond Dr. at McDowell Rd. 0.4 mile south of Diehl Rd. and 1.2 miles north of Ogden Ave. (There is no exit from I-88 for Raymond Dr.)

Meet at the end of the parking lot where the trail begins. Set your own pace. Turf and limestone trails. Leashed dogs OK.

Lunch après-walk?

Listed on other Meetups.

A chance of rain, several no-shows, but the sun came out and we had a nice hike (though one group missed a trail turn-off). 9 hungry hikers lunched at Rock Bottom to replace all those precious calories we burned off (and maybe a few more)..

Just because "we're not dead yet," doesn't mean we can walk, talk, and remember given instructions too. Geesh! ;)

It was my first meet up of this type. I was so happy that I was able to share with people who also enjoy these type of walks. I used to go with my late husband on walks/hikes. And can't do much of same by myself without fearing for my safety. Thank you, Jim for arranging.

I'm married & live about a mile from this hike. I'm excited about socializing with people I'm not babysitting for.
