Easy 2 Mile Weekend Walk - Hidden Lake Forest Preserve - Downers Grove

Let's take an easy 2 mile walk at Hidden Lake Forest Preserve located on the southeast corner of the intersection of Route 53 and Butterfield Road. The entrance is on the east side of Route 53 just south of Butterfield and across from the Wal-Mart parking lot. Make a left as you enter the Forest Preserve to get to the NORTH parking area. Flat limestone trails. Leashed dogs welcome.  Get a map of the trails

Meetup at 10:30, start walking at 10:40.

INDY50+ walk events are for:  EXERCISE - Set your own pace. SIGHTSEEING - Looking around, taking pictures. FUN - Meeting new people, talking, laughing, networking. It's unlikely our group will stay together during the walk. If you finish quickly, gather at the starting point if you'd like to have a snack at a local restaurant after the walk.

When I started to wear out near the end, a lovely gentleman...whose name I unfortunately didn't get... told me stories.

Wish I had known you were going to Arrowhead. That's my favorite lunch place. I took off to Morton for a festival instead which was kind of okay...

We choose a lunch place when everyone has completed the walk. I need to know how many many are lunching, what food preferences are, and how familiar walkers are with local roads and restaurants. Sorry you couldn't join us.

I am familiar with Morton Arboretum area,my preference is light food for lunch, like salads. I am not familiar with the area restaurants.

Caught some viral thing and still not well enough to be social. I’m sorry to have to cancel a second event in one week. Going to clinic today for some help.

I was looking forward to my first walk with the group and seeing for myself if Jim’s pace was really as slow as everyone claims. Oh well.

Eileen, Actually, it's even slower! That's why walks are "Set your own pace." Hope you feel better soon. -Jim

As stated above (in bold), "set your own pace." Some people walk fast, I'll be one of the slowest.
