No. I participate in several Meetup groups and I lead a full social life. Much of my leisure time is spent outdoors, engaged in physical activities. The only thing missing in my life is having one special person to share in all the fun.
Hike at a forest preserve. Roller blade at a roller rink. Go camping at a state park. Rock climb at an indoor wall. Meet at an Irish pub to listen to Irish folk music and eat Irish comfort food. Play pinochle at a coffee house. Bike ride on the Illinois Prairie Path. Attend a play at the College of DuPage. Go tubing and/or skiing at Villa Olivia. Snowshoe at the Morton Arboretum. Go to a wine and cheese tasting. Meet at a private home for a pot-luck dinner. Take a weekend mini-vacation to Greenfield Village and the Henry Ford Museum near Detroit. Take a weekend mini-vacation to the Mall of America near Minneapolis. Visit the trolley car museum in South Elgin. Go on a weekend backpack outing at Maquoketa Caves State Park in Iowa. Meet at Cantigny Golf Course for a Sunday morning brunch buffet. Meet at a forest preserve for a pot-luck BBQ. Go to a local movie theater to watch a film and meet for dinner afterwards. Meet at a private home for a plain vanilla house party.
A big MEETUP sign at the venue to help people find the group. Name tags with BIG letters, because none of us can read small print anymore, and because we can't remember anything anymore.

I am an eclectic person and there just isn’t enough room to talk about all of my pastimes. I'm looking for someone who shares my interests, but just as importantly, I am hoping to find a woman who will introduce me to the special things in her world.
It's a great concept. The other singles Meetup groups I belong to all seem to be oriented toward the younger set, and they don't recognize that 50+ people really aren't dead yet.
