Parker River National Wildlife Refuge

Spring on Plum Island presents many opportunities to see wildlife, particularly migrating birds which stop over here.  The will be some lovely views of the ocean, but the beaches will be closed at this time for piping plover management.  There is an entrance fee of $5 per car, so attendees may wish to carpool to save money and gas.  Bring beverages and snacks if you wish, as none are available in the refuge.

If attendees are interested we may leave the refuge to photograph other areas on Plum Island as well including beaches and the lighthouse.  If the weather calls for substantial rain, this Meetup will be rescheduled for another date.

The 6 Plum Island Turnpike address is for the visitor's center which is a couple of miles away from the refuge.  We will meet there, so that we can then carpool to the refuge itself.  This will save on entrance fees, and make it easy for us to navigate within the refuge as a group.

I work weekends, so most of the events I host will be weekdays or evenings. I know that this will limit those who are able to attend.
